Taylor Swift's Subpoena Dropped in Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively's Legal Drama

In a surprising turn of events, Taylor Swift will not be required to testify in the ongoing legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Baldoni's legal team has officially withdrawn the subpoenas directed at Swift, Page Six, Entertainment Weekly, and Fox News Digital have confirmed.

This development comes after Swift, a close friend of Lively's, was dragged into the legal fray, although she had no direct involvement in the case. Baldoni's team had previously claimed that Lively leveraged her friendship with Swift to influence the script of "It Ends With Us", and contended that Swift had attended meetings between Lively and Baldoni. However, Swift's representatives vehemently denied these allegations, emphasizing that Swift had no hand in the film's creative process or casting decisions.

Lively, in her legal claims, has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and of launching a campaign to tarnish her reputation. Baldoni has denied these accusations and countersued for defamation and extortion. Swift's involvement was limited to licensing her song "My Tears Ricochet" for the film—one of 19 artists whose music was featured in the project. Her spokesperson decried the subpoena as a "tabloid clickbait" tactic.

Lively's team expressed satisfaction with the withdrawal of the subpoenas, committing to protect any third parties from being unjustly targeted or harassed. "We are pleased that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties have withdrawn their harassing subpoenas to Taylor Swift and her law firm. We supported the efforts of Taylor’s team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas and will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process", Lively's representative stated.

This legal drama is slated to proceed to trial in March 2026, where the core issues between Lively and Baldoni will be addressed without Swift's involuntary involvement.
